Shoping the Sales

With the sales drawing to a close I took a last look threw and find some gems. If I wasn't a poor student I would buy it all but you know rent before fashion.  I recommend keeping a close eye on sales around this time as great items are often super marked down, particularly look at shops you cant normally afford and see if you can treat yourself without breaking the bank.

Urban Outfitters:

Urban Outfitters is way too pricey for me normally but I found two items I really love in the sale. Firstly this loose fitting tea dress really suits my simple style, personally I am trying to move away from black and so opted for the grey. Another gem in the sale is this pvc skirt, I love the shape as I think it would be flattering on loads of body shapes and I have to say I am a fan of pvc I think if styled well it can be a great alternative to wearing loads of bling.

£20                                                    £90

River Island:

These dresses are a similar style and yet I think you can justify both. The first is this black drop waist dress with side panels. This dress is great for those of us that don't really have curves as the panels create the illusion of a small waist and the drop wait apps volume around the hips creating a more voluptuous figure. The second dress is super summery, the bright colour and fun print are perfect for the sunny weather. This dress would be played down with sandals and sunnies or dolled up with heels.

£12                                                   £10

Topshop:

Topshop is a shop that I don't own any clothes from, I often like their stuff but I think it is way over priced for the high street. However I did find this gorgeous wrap skirt in their sale. I love wrap skirt because they are a perfect cross between fun and sophisticated and this one had the added bonus of being textured. Wrap skirts are versatile and work for lots of different occasions you really can't lose.

£12

Office:

No wishlist would be complete without a pair of shoes and these one are stunning. A simple elegant heel that is not impossible to walk in as they are chunky and have an ankle strap. These beauties would polish off any look, just make sure you have tended too tootsie's.

Make Up Clear Out

I am a hoarder with make-up I hate letting go of anything I spent my hard earned pennies on !! But their comes a time in every make-up obsessives life when she has to say 'enough is enough' and have a giant clear out. For this particular obsessive it was prompted by a move, in around two months I am moving into a new flat and the thought of dragging a bunch of unused make-up with me was too much. So the cut-throat clear out began...

Each and every container of make-up was ransacked, I was very harsh with myself and only kept items that I either, love and use often or that I felt I hadn't given a good enough try yet. The result was a giant pile of stuff to be CHUCKED !!

Don't get me wrong I still have a whole ton of make-up and so I thought this was the perfect time to invest in so proper storage. Like any good beauty community member I turned to Muji. I have never purchased anything for Muji and I don't have a shop near so I bought from their online shop. I opted for two of items from the acrylic storage section, time w ill tell if that is enough.

Acrylic Box - 2 Drawers With Flip-Top Lid Wide and the Acrylic 5 drawer box.

My plan is to keep eye and lip products in the 5 drawer box and face products in the flip-top box. This still left the question of where to store my foundations and palettes. Then I remembered a box I saw in the H&M home department and so I bought it to store my foundations. I think this wooden box will look nice with the acrylic boxes and make it a bit less simple.

This still leaves me with the problem of storing my many many palettes but that is a problem for another day.

Outfit Of The Week

Outfit

Dress: £5 Primark

Cardigan: £10 Local Boutique

Belts: £2 Primark

Boots: £10 Primark

Tights: £2.50 Primark

Coat: £20 Primark

TOTAL : £49.50

I love the print of this dress !! I like that the print is not to over the top and the bright colours give a little something extra as well.

I picked us this cardigan a few months ago but for some reason I really haven't worn it alot. I love how draped it is this make is really easy to wear.

I love the deep red colour and the detail on the back. I think the pattern of the dress looks nice showing through a little.

I throw on this belt to nip in my waist is also to tie all the colours together.

I have been wearing these boots non-stop since I got them. I think the give the flower pattern and the look a little edge.

I have also been wear this coat alot. I think the simple black/white go with pretty much anything and there is still something rather edgy about it.

Christmas Make Up : First Impressions

Hey Hey Hey,

Being the make-up crazed gal I am, I recieved a lot of make-up this christmas ! Some was choosen for me by my friends and family and other items I bought for myself with my christmas money :) I have not had enough to use the products that much but I thought I would write my frist impressions:

FACE PRODUCT'S

Collection Lasting Perfection Ultimate Wear Doundation in "Vanilla 1":-  This was one of the items I bought for myself. I am a huge fun of the concealer and had heard good thing about the foundation. The main thing I have found is that it is quite a bit to dark (but is the lighest shade offered), because of this it needs a lot of blending to look, well, normal. The coverage is good but it leaves a little tack on the skin however it does have a matte finnish which i like.

Maybelline Dream Matte Mousse in "Light Porcelain 004":- A old favourite and my friends know this !

Avon Ideal Flawless Matte Mousse Foundation in "Nude" :- My first impression of this is that it has a odd texture, it is not really very "mousse" like it is more like a blam... It is hard to describe but the is thicker and smoother than expected. The other things is that it has a very light coverage which im not a fan of in foundations, so, im not sure if I will get much use of of it.

Bobbi Brown Corrector in "Light Bisque" :- I love this product so much it is 100% essential for me which is why I asked for it.

Accessorize Merged Baked Blusher in "Sensation 5" :-  This is a lovely light pink blush that has quite a lot of sheen in it. The colour pay of is not that great it provides a very light wash but the glow is lovley.

EYE PRODUCTS

Make Up Academy Eyeshadow Palette in " Glitter Ball" :- I have a few of the MUA palette's and they are very good quality for the money. This one is no diffrent. It contains no matte colours (as the name states) a few of the colours are fairly nude and everyday but most are rather bright therefore you could create a variety of looks.

Fashionista Palette:- These paletts allow you to choose your own shades of both eyeshadow and blusher. The shades I got in eyeshadow are "Gold Rush, 4" and "Nude Glimmer, 19", the blush shades are "Amber Glow, 4" and "London". These products are really nicely pigmented and the colours and diffrent from stuff I have already. The other great thing about these palette's is that you can pop the shades in and out.

MAC Paint Pot in "Bare Study" :- I really wanted a paint pot as I had heard so much good stuff about them and it didnt take me long to choose this colour. It is a really nude tone that can be worn alone or as a base to other shadows. It is really easy to apply and I also love the gold undertones which warm it up so that you can wear it alone.

Collection Multiplier Mascara :- This is a rubber brush mascara not too unlike the skyscraper mascara, but better !! It does an amazing job and creating lengh and volume but still looks very natural.

Benefit They're Real Mascara :- Oh yes !! I asked for this after hearing all the hype and in all honesty im not sure it is worth it. Yes, its does provide lengh but I also find that it it makes my lashes looks very few and far between and is rather clumby.

EYE PRODUCTS

Revlon Just Bitten Kissable Balm Stain in "Crush" and "Honey" :- I was given "Crush" as a gift and loved it so much I bought "Honey". These are realy conditioning on the lips and the colours are pigmented and long lasting. I really dont have a bad word to say.

Revlon Lip Butter in "Pink Truffle" :- I have had a bit of a chage of heart about these recently and I think "Pink Truffle" is my new favourite colour. I wont rattle on about these as everyone and their third cousin knows about them.

MAC Viva Glam V in :- I wanted to invest in a nude MAC lipstick that I could throw on when every I was in a hurry and not have to worry. This is perfect because it is a true "your lips but better" colour and it had a nice sheen and soft glitter to it that means you need a gloss.

Sleek Pout Polish in "Powder Pink 942" :- I really love this lip balm as it is conditioning and a lovely colour. I like this both on it own when im having a low key day and to prep my lips before lipsticks.

Sleek Pout Paint in "Port 159" :- This is a lot brighter than it looks in the tube it is infact bright fushia pink !! It is so pigments that you need a tiny dot to cover your entire lip, this will last a life time !!
